Common Questions

I’ve worked for other staffing services….What makes Workforce different?
At Workforce, we take the time to get to know you and what you really want out of your career. We work to understand your goals and objectives, and we strive to find one-of-a-kind job opportunities that will help you meet those objectives. Most importantly, you are treated with respect and dignity at our offices.  We believe you are the lifeblood of our business. It is our philosophy that you are just as important as our client companies to our success.

In the staffing industry, usually the company requesting employees pays for services, so most staffing firms view them as the “client.”  At Workforce, we know we have two very distinct clients – the companies seeking employees and YOU, the job candidate. Finding the right position that fits your lifestyle and family needs is just as important to us as finding a good employment match for an area employer. In today's job market, you have more options than ever before. We have the resources to help you find the job you are searching for, and our approach to employment gives you the opportunities you want along with the flexibility you need.

Do you charge a fee for helping me find a job?
Absolutely not. We never charge a fee for helping you find a new career opportunity. Our primary responsibility is to help you find a workplace environment that matches your skills and needs. When we are successful, the employer pays our fee, never the job candidate.

How soon will I be put to work?
This depends primarily on your objectives, your skills, your past experience, and the type of work you are looking for when you apply with Workforce. We strive to create a career opportunity that is custom-crafted to fit your needs as quickly as possible. Although we cannot guarantee a placement for everyone who applies, we do the best we can to match your skills to a company’s needs. And throughout the process, we will always communicate with you openly and honestly – even if that means telling you that we may not be your best resource.

How much will I be paid?
This depends on the type of position you accept and the skills you have. It also depends on how much you work in a given week. We offer very competitive pay rates and strive to ensure our client companies are aware of standard salaries and hourly rates in the region.  In fact, we conduct and distribute an annual Wage and Benefit Survey to ensure our employees are receiving competitive pay. Additionally, many of our positions are called “temp-to-hire”, where you work as a Workforce employee for a probationary period (usually 90 days) and then the employer takes you on their payroll. You then receive all the benefits for that company.

Do you offer holiday pay?
Yes, we do! As a valuable member of the Workforce team, you may be eligible for holiday pay after completing 600 hours. Your Workforce representative can give you more information.

What types of positions do you have available?
Whether you are seeking a flexible short or long-term assignment, or a full-time direct-hire position, Workforce will help you find the opportunity that best suits your skills and background. We can help everyone from entry-level candidates to recent graduates to the experienced executives find a workplace environment they enjoy. We have Industrial/Service, Administrative Recruiting and Executive Recruiting divisions that specialize in placing candidates at all levels.

I am seeking a new opportunity, but I don’t want to start over with an entry-level position. Do you have any jobs that fit my needs?
We have openings for everything from entry-level positions to senior-level project managers. We encourage you to contact the Workforce office nearest you to see what types of jobs they have that suit your skills and your needs. You will be able to speak with a Staffing Specialist who can help you create a plan and find the opportunities you need to reach your long-term career goals.

Does Workforce have a Substance Abuse Policy?
Yes! The policy of Workforce is to maintain a drug and alcohol free work environment that is safe and productive for our employees and others doing business with Workforce. To meet these objectives, Workforce has adopted a Substance Abuse Policy where employees will be subject to pre-employment, post accident and possible random drug screening. Our policy is strictly enforced.
